Minister of one sixth of the world population
writes about TTE-Visual Encyclopedias

The Honorable Minister of Education, Human Resource Development India, Dr. M.M. Joshi, wrote to the Honorable Minister of Finance,
Shri J. Singh - in a letter dated January 10, 2003:

“In view of the great potential of the Transparency Encyclopedias for the overhead projector in bringing improvements in the teaching methods of our schools and universities, I forward herewith the request ....(to lower import duties).... that you may please direct the concerned officials of your Ministry ..... to examine this innovative teaching tool as a book whereby the costs can be kept to a lower level, making it affordable for Indian educational institutions, which in turn will benefit our students”.

Three years later, after visiting one of his donor projects in East Africa, Nick Crane wrote:
‘The transparencies are at the heart of the system. They allow classes of children with no school
books (only exercise books) to have access to images of the world during their Geography lessons.
Some of the schools have up to 6000 children who have never seen images of the world before.
Each encyclopedia kit has 421 transparencies so the impact can be quite dramatic’

Providing the Basics

TTE-Visual provides
five series each with an average of 500 full colour transparencies. These visualize the most relevant topics for secondary schools for Geography, History, Biology, Physics and Chemistry.
These Visual Encyclopedias are also an asset for any college of further education or university.
