Transparencies are more than useful backgrounds Use transparencies to create positive spheres. Show an appealing visual which is directly or indirectly related to the topic being taught - a tropical rain forest, an historical painting, an instructive experiment. Simply display it as a background image – maybe even for the duration of the whole lesson. As long as it relates to the theme of the lesson, it will provide a positive element to the classroom atmosphere. Later, that same image will help to provide your students with a vital visual clue: the memory of that image will help recall the topic under discussion.
